Financial Centres Of The World 2020: Focus On Xi'an

This webinar provided a focus on developments in Xi'an, the capital of China's Shaanxi Province and a developing financial hub in central China. Xi’an is an emerging financial centre on the world stage. We heard about Xi’an’s role in the Chinese economy and its plans for the development of financial services, particularly its aspiration to be a Silk Road financial centre. Xi’an is home to a major aerospace industry, ranks third in China for research capacity, and has 63 university and college institutions. Xi'an is a key strategic hub connecting Europe and Asia, linking the east and west, and linking the north and south of China. Xi’an recently launched an AI Innovation Development Pilot Zone. Bo Jiao, Chief Representative of Shaanxi Business in London, and Professor Michael Mainelli guided us through key developments and future plans for Xi'an's financial business.
