Financing Tied to Energy Efficiency

Energy efficiency is important in both new and existing homes. Nobody wants to waste money or be a burden on the enviornment. Tying efficiency standards to financing, well that is a dangerous slope to travel. Especially with regards to low income housing loans. HUD is looking to tie their financing requirements to the 2019 IECC code. This simple change can add between $18,000 to $30,000 to a new home. How does that help housing affordability?
