Find Strength and Serenity Within-guest Diane James. Meditation. Peace. Happiness. Coping. Relating.

from Women Behaving Boldly · host Alana Marie

Today’s guest is Diane James—a Certified Life, Relationship, Communication and Parenting Coach who helps people navigate the challenges of rocky relationships in both their personal and professional lives, so that clients can handle conflict in a healthy way, and directly state what they are feeling and wanting. Through her training and experience, Diane understands that most challenges come from deep-seated self-doubt and the inability to speak up and create boundaries for oneself. Diane’s heart-centered approach, deep listening, and wisdom will support you and your intentions, resulting in a life that is revived and truthful. Diane received her certifications from the International Coach Academy, The Relationship Coaching Institute, and has taught Positive Discipline and Hacking School Discipline. She has worked at the Maharishi School, a consciousness-based educational program, for over 30 years, and she coaches Accelerated participants at Marci Schimoff’s Your Year of Miracles program, a program founded by New York Times #1 Best Selling Author & Renowned Happiness Expert, Marci Shimoff. Diane has also been a Girl Scout Volunteer. Welcome Diane! Bold Points: Parts of your mind and body want to slow down and find deep peace within. Remember that rest and activity are cycles. Meditation can help to settle the mind down, and when you get to the quiet depths within, that sense of calm becomes a part of you and your way of being. If we want a more peaceful world, we must start by finding peace within ourselves. Meditation can also give you strength to deal with issues that you might have been running from. Taking time out of your day to calm yourself calms your physiology. 20 minutes 2x a day is great! If you can’t do that, start smaller. Even a couple of minutes is better than nothing. More tips for personal peace: A. Start with awareness and acknowledge what isn’t working in your life. B. Educate yourself—see a therapist, coach, attend workshops or classes. And C. Take action right away—do something as simple as getting a highly recommended book on the subject. And if up until now you haven’t been bold, be bold. Start with a bold thought. Thought leads to action. You *can* change your life. Playlist to keep the party going: “Lotta Love” by Nicolette Larson; “Beautiful” by Carole King; “Turn Turn Turn” by The Byrds; “Fire and Rain” by James Taylor; “California Dreamin” by The Mamas and the Papas. “Peace Train,” by Cat Stevens.
