Lamar Giles is a two-time Edgar Award Finalist and a founding member of We Need Diverse Books. Between reading Stephen King’s On Writing and discovering books by black authors in his favorite genres, Lamar realized there was a route to making money writing fiction. At first, his stories emulated the voices of the authors he grew up admiring. He even sold a few short stories that way, yet it was when he found his unique voice that his career truly started to shift. "Success is the life I'm living right now," says Lamar.
