Finding Balance and Normalizing the Dark Thoughts | Journey 30 w/ Kathryn Burmeister
from The Journey with Jared · host Jared Salekin
Lawyer, coach and author, Kathryn Burmeister joins me on the podcast this week to share her story. While working as a personal injury lawyer in Georgia, the managing partner of Kathryn's firm committed suicide. Not wanting to give up on her clients, Kathryn joined a few others in taking on their caseload. Working on these cases without the support that she needed led Kathryn to overworking, not taking care of herself and eventually hitting her rock bottom. She shared with me how she came back from that dark place, why it inspired her to help others, and the importance of being proactive as opposed to reactive with your mental health. Kathryn's book "Overcoming Addiction to the Status Quo" can be found on Amazon here: https://www.amazon.com/Overcoming-Addiction-Status-Kathryn-Burmeister/dp/1736080806/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2LD38LLE9XZAA&dchild=1&keywords=overcoming+addiction+to+the+status+quo&qid=1617031361&sprefix=overcoming+addiction+%2Caps%2C161&sr=8-1#customerReviews You can also find Kathryn at: IG: @kfburmeister https://kathrynfburmeister.com/ Follow me on IG for more content @jaredsalekin or you can email me [email protected] with any feedback or questions!
