Finding Contentment

from Hope-Full Living · host Robert Gilbert

I watched my father make decisions. I learned from him that the key to contentment is knowing what matters most. During his military career, my dad was offered a commission by the U.S. Air Force as a Captain. He was a senior non-commissioned officer at the time. The increase in prestige and pay were tempting. There was, however, a concern that he had. The position would require that he attend many social events. That would reduce the time he had to spend with his wife and children. There was no father in his household when he was growing up because his parents were divorced. The experience impressed upon him the importance of family. Thus, he declined the opportunity and was content with his decision. As seniors, we must make many choices. By trusting in Jesus, we will find true contentment.
