Have you ever heard of a couple of apps, one called Gratitude 365 and another one called Appify? Neither had I. We're going to talk about gratitude and technology today. Oh my.
This is the Daily Grateful. I'm Michael Croes. It's Tuesday. And we like to call it that nickel Tuesday.
I don't know why that just popped into my head. It's popped into my head a couple of times. But you know, how do we use? Oh, I said, you know again.
Damn it. I got to stop saying every time I say it from now on, I want you to just reach through your iPad or your iPod. Anybody still have iPods? Anyway, or through your iPhone or your Android, I want you to slap me.
All right. Just slap me. Anyway, as I was saying, technology and gratitude. All right, the power of digital gratitude journals.
Have you ever heard of them? Well, those were two things that I just talked about. Appify and Gratitude 365. I don't like things like that.
I have a gratitude journal. It's a right here. It's right here in my formerly, chloridane stained hands. And it's a paper thing.
I write. I write and I limit myself to three things each time I write. And less is more. So that is just how I am and what I do.
I like to use tech for social good. I like to highlight companies and organizations using technology for the good. And I hate to do this, but I'm going to give a nod to meta, you know, the people who own Facebook and Instagram, they have meta AI right now, which is fabulous. If you haven't tried it yet, try it.
Oh my goodness. And it's free. I would imagine somebody's going to start charging. I don't know.
But it's free. And it's got all kinds of new information. Volunteer opportunities in the virtual world happens all the time. You know what I did today?
I didn't do this in the virtual world. I did this at the Tampa Bay Technology Center. I showed up and we had a bunch of people come in just for get together. And you know what we did?
We had these six inch little pots that I got on Amazon. And our secretary got really good potting soil. And then I went out today and I bought marigolds. And then there was an artist who came in from Safety Harbor.
And she took all the little pots. Everybody had a little pot. And she had all this painting stuff and they painted the pots. They put art all over the pots.
And that's what we did at the Tampa Bay Technology Center today. And then we put the plants in there and everybody was just delighted. So, you know, that's that's technology and doing fun things for the community. We just we're going to is, matter of fact, that was so fun.
We're going to do it again in a month. We're not going to do pots this time. We're going to do something else. I don't know.
But the ladies agreed to come back. So one of the other things that you want to do is you want mindful tech habits. E-learning is something that you can do that and be grateful for. And it can really help your life.
I did a thing on the libraries, a couple of podcasts to go. And they have all kinds of things, educational things that you can learn on the internet through the library. It is great. It is wonderful.
So that is good. Tech-enabled acts of kindness. Now, at the Tampa Bay Technology Center, we have random acts of kindness that we do a couple of times a year. We just get together and we do kind things.
Well, you can do that digitally too. You can set up a Facebook page for people who need help with a specific area in the community. And you can offer solutions. You can offer tech help.
You can do all kinds of things like that. That is really good. It's just a wonderful and great idea. I just want to call this podcast, Finding Gratitude in the Digital Age.
I think it's a good thing. I really do. So what are you going to do today to find yourself in gratitude? Using tech.
Use your iPhone. Use your Android. Use your BlackBerry. Are there BlackBerrys anymore?
I don't think there is. I don't think that technology even exists anymore. See how we move ahead through things? Wow.
I was just watching a presentation from a podcaster who was podcasting two years before the iPhone came out. Imagine that. That must have been a trip. Anyway, have a great day.
We will see you tomorrow on Wednesday. Do we do something special on Wednesdays or is it Thursdays? Wednesdays are wacky Wednesdays. We're going to have a wacky day.
That's going to be fun. See you then.
