Finding hope when feeling hopeless

from Quiet In The Night · host Bill Scott

Finding Hope in the Midst of Hopelessness Hopelessness can feel like a heavy fog, obscuring the light and making it hard to see a way forward. In moments like these, it's easy to feel forgotten or overwhelmed by the weight of our circumstances. Yet, even in our darkest valleys, there is a promise that we are not alone. Psalm 34:18 says, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." This verse reminds us that God's presence is most near when we feel the most broken. He sees your pain, hears your cries, and knows the depths of your struggle. When hope feels distant, try to take small steps toward God's truth. Speak honest prayers, even if they're as simple as, "Lord, help me." Meditate on His promises, like Jeremiah 29:11: "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Lean on the love of others—friends, family, or a trusted counselor. Remember, your current feelings don't define your future. With God, hope is not lost; it's being renewed, even now, in ways you can't yet see. Hold on. Light will break through.
