Finding Joy and Peace in Perpetuity

from heartstorming healthcare Hosted by Claudia Cometa

This week, I spoke with Moniqua Acosta, my dear friend and owner of Space Yoga Studio in Augusta, GA. She is also the Program Director and Lead Trainer at the Space Yoga Institute for Health and Wellness and the Founder and Executive Director of Project Create Space, a nonprofit with the mission of offering no-cost, population-specific yoga classes to underserved communities all around the CSRA. In addition to yoga, Moniqua is also an instructor of Spanish, and received her MA in Hispanic Linguistics from the University of Florida in 2008. She is also the proud mother of a far-too-witty tween boy who brings my heart joy, happiness, and just a tad bit of agitation every single day. In this episode, we talk about: :: her decision to join as a convent as a teenager :: her journey in the convent, including the work she did and some of the physical and mental obstacles she overcame :: how this journey has informed her path and passion today You can find Moniqua online at https://www.spaceyogastudio.com/ and on IG @spaceyogastudio.
