He has undergone a cystoscopy with his current urologist, as well as several courses of antibiotics, and asks, "Am I missing something?".Dr. Mistry states that some estimates show 1 in 10 men will experience prostatitis at some point in their lives. This can cause back aches, testicle pain, pain in the scrotum, and blood in the urine or semen. For an acute bacterial infection, antibiotics are very effective and can help to resolve this issue within a matter of weeks. For frequent or chronic prostatitis, Dr. Mistry says that there are additional factors to consider, including: hygiene, use of probiotics, physical activity, and diet. At Urology Specialists, patients have access to a pelvic floor physical  therapist, as well as a nutritionist to help identify food sensitivities through testing. If you enjoyed today’s episode, don’t forget to like, subscribe, and share us with a friend!
