Tom worked for the City of Chicago, the Art Institute, and is now helping keep some of the nation’s most famous buildings stay ready for disasters. Guest BioTom Henkey, has more than 8 years of experience in the emergency management field. Tom is responsible for implementing detailed risk and vulnerability assessments, as well as creating site-specific emergency operations plans. He composes emergency quick-reference guides and specialized training materials to provide clients with security references and assure their that they are prepared for handling an emergency situation.Prior to joining Titan, Tom was a Senior Emergency Management Coordinator for the City of Chicago, where he was responsible for disaster planning, physical-security, infrastructure, transportation, and antiterrorism analysis. He also served as the Director of Protection Services for the Art Institute of Chicago, ensuring the safety of more than 1.5 million annual visitors and a multi-billion dollar art collection. Tom is a Certified Emergency Manager (CEM), a Certified Institutional Protection Manager (CIPM II), and holds undergraduate degrees from St. Louis University and a Master’s Degree in Emergency and Disaster Management from American Military University. He is the author of Urban Emergency Management, a textbook/handbook published by Elsevier in 2017.
