Fire Watch After Heat Wave | Las Vegas News

Vegas’ extreme heat warning has lifted, but don’t ditch the sunscreen—fire danger is now the real threat. With temps still flirting with record highs and dangerously dry conditions gripping rural areas, especially Nye County, a Fire Weather Watch is in effect for Saturday. Winds could gust up to 35 mph, combining with low humidity and lingering heat to create prime wildfire conditions. While Sunday may offer a slight reprieve, next week’s highs remain stubbornly in the 90s. Stay alert, especially if you’re venturing outdoors in drier zones—fire safety is now the top priority.
