First Aid for Feelings: the ultimate self-care guide with Thor A Rain | Ep 131

from Into Your Life Podcast · host Into Your Life Podcast

In this episode, we sit down with Thor A Rain, founder of The Helpful Clinic and creator of *First Aid for Feelings*. We are invited to join Thor on their journey of building a social enterprise focused on emotional literacy and well-being, inspired by their personal experience of chronic illness and the realisation that many people lack the tools to understand and manage their emotions effectively. Thor explains how *First Aid for Feelings* helps individuals identify their emotions, create personalised first aid kits, and navigate challenging feelings in a healthy, constructive way. In this episode, we explore a range of topics, including the impact of cultural conditioning on emotional health, the importance of self-awareness, and how curiosity and compassion can guide personal growth. Thor also shares insights from their own gender transition, discussing how understanding oneself—whether it involves gender identity or emotional well-being—is a universal journey. Listeners will walk away with practical tips on managing their emotions, advocating for themselves, and creating meaningful self-care routines. This episode is packed with actionable advice for anyone looking to better understand their feelings and live a healthier, more authentic life. Thor A Rain (they/them) is a health activist, pain and fatigue specialist, and social entrepreneur with over a decade of experience helping thousands manage and improve their physical, mental, and social health. Their expertise stems from personal recovery from complex PTSD, ME/CFS, and Fibromyalgia—despite being told by doctors they’d never recover. During their recovery, Thor developed the First Aid for Feelings method, including the ABC technique and the First Aid Kit for Feelings. After completing a Master’s degree and clinical diploma in Clinical Hypnosis, NLP, EFT, and Coaching, Thor began using this method with patients, leading to the first workshop in 2013. In 2015, they founded The Helpful Clinic, a social enterprise focused on improving health and well-being by promoting health and emotional literacy through consultations, workshops, meditations, and the First Aid for Feelings Manual.
