First Lady Visits NC for Recovery and Tech in Schools | Durham News

First Lady Melania Trump is hitting the road to North Carolina this Tuesday, doubling as a symbol of resilience and a champion for the future of education. She’ll tour communities still recovering from Hurricane Helene’s devastating October 2023 impact, while also spotlighting cutting-edge classroom tech that’s transforming how kids learn. Her visit comes just days after President Trump heads to Gastonia — his wife’s hometown — to rally behind a Senate candidate, marking their first joint trip to the Tar Heel State since February. This isn’t her first rodeo in the region; she and the President toured hurricane-ravaged areas here back in January 2025. Now, she’s returning to witness progress firsthand — reinforcing America’s grit and pushing forward with tools that empower students for tomorrow’s digital world.
