We all have a battle of Will's. The battle of Willful (my independence) vs Willing (my surrender). Learning to assert our will is a normal development. The one who can resist the temptation, disciplined and driven in all challenges is praised. Yet when self-will is over played, we become rigid, missing out on the fullness of life we are called to. We want love without sacrifice– without the risk and expense of the surrender of self-control and determination. God cannot accept such a bargain. True love is found in surrender.
