It cost Him.Walking Away & Warning ResponsiblyIf peace is rejected, Jesus permits walking away (Luke 10:10-11).Even then, remind them the Kingdom of God is near – maintain a posture of hope.Any warning must come from love and concern, desiring repentance (2 Pet 3:9), not judgment.Leave pronouncing "woes" (judgment) to Jesus; it's His role, not ours.Practical Peacemaking: The BLESS ModelHow do we actively make peace in evangelism? Use the BLESS acronym: Begin with Prayer: Talk to God about people before talking to people about God (Col 4:2-6). Pray for openings, wisdom, clarity.Listen: Understand others before trying to be understood. Win people, don't just lecture. Jesus asked questions.Eat: Share meals. Builds relationships, breaks down stereotypes (Jesus ate with "sinners"). Shows people they matter and belong.Serve: Listening and eating reveal needs. Demonstrate God's love through service.Share Story: When appropriate, share how Jesus changed your life. Relationship often changes hearts more than argument.Conclusion:Making peace by blessing others is a core priority Jesus established for His followers.It’s how we actively participate in His ministry of reconciliation and demonstrate we are part of His family.Call to Action:Intentionally apply the BLESS framework in your relationships and interactions.Participate in church hospitality events ("parties") – Labor Day, Crocktoberfest, Super Bowl, St. Patty's Day – as a practical way to make peace and bless the community.Consider hosting a party; support is available.
