First Time Watch - Green Lantern (2011)

This week on First Time Pictures, Julian and Zander are heading back to 2011 to revisit one of DC’s most infamous superhero movies—Green Lantern. With both of us loving the new Lanterns series, we thought there was no better time to go back and see how Ryan Reynolds’ first attempt at bringing Hal Jordan to the big screen holds up all these years later. Julian is a huge Ryan Reynolds fan, while Zander has some mixed feelings, giving us plenty to debate as we break down the movie’s wild CGI, questionable choices, surprisingly cool Green Lantern lore, and the moments that are so ridiculous they somehow become entertaining. We also talk about what the 2011 movie got right about the Green Lantern universe, where it went wrong, and how differently we look at it now after seeing what Lanterns has been able to do with this corner of DC. New episodes every Wednesday.
