First Words (Acts 2)

Last week I shared with you from Acts 2 about the birth of the church and how Pentecost is the most important event in the life of the church next to Jesus death and resurrection. If it were not for Pentecost we would not be here today as the church would have burned out, fizzled out, walked away or just given up. The Holy Spirit is the third person of the trinity whom Jesus promised would come to His followers after He returned to heaven and that when the Holy Spirit came He would not just be with us but that He would be in us and that His job was to help us to live the life that Jesus has for us by giving us power that is not our own and bringing to remembrance all that Jesus had taught. The Holy Spirit works in us to draw us to Christ and He works through us to point people to Jesus. ----------------- Thank you for listening to the Calvary Chapel Bakersfield podcast!
