Fish Stories

Jesus in Luke 5 shows how grace lands. Jesus steps into Peter’s boat and turns his work into a platform. The gifts look like bread at the feeding of the five thousand, same substance, different shapes and sizes, and Jesus uses each in the shape it comes. When a man gives Jesus his boat, Jesus gives back a command, Launch out into the deep. That call requires forgetting last night’s failure, washing the nets, and rowing anyway. God is not in the shallow end. He meets a man in the deep and turns a gift into a culture that stretches from children to children’s children. The Spirit guides. Grace supplies. The Father delights. And fatherhood becomes a steady climate where sons and daughters breathe I love you, I’m proud of you, and Here is what you are good at.
