What am I referring to and in what sense?“Stretching” refers to the practice of extending or lengthening muscles and tendons to improve flexibility and range of motion in the joints.Muscle and Tendon Lengthening: When you stretch, you gently pull on specific muscles and tendons, causing them to lengthen. This action helps to increase your flexibility and can reduce muscle tightness and stiffness. Types of Stretching: There are several types, including:• Static Stretching: Involves holding a stretch in a comfortable position for a period of time, usually 15-30 seconds.• Dynamic Stretching: Involves moving parts of your body and gradually increasing reach, speed, or both in a controlled manner.• Ballistic Stretching: Uses the momentum of a moving body or a limb in an attempt to force it beyond its normal range of motion, though this type is less recommended due to the risk of injury.• PNF Stretching (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation): Involves both stretching and contracting the muscle group being targeted. WHY?
