Fitzgerald’s Rebuild Begins at MSU | Wisconsin Badgers Football News

Michigan State football is poised for a full rebuild under new coach Pat Fitzgerald, who inherits a team that finished 3-9 last season with zero conference wins at home. Key losses include top receiver Nick Marsh (now at Indiana) and leading rusher Makhi Frazier (transferred to Ole Miss), but the Spartans are bolstered by incoming running back Cam Edwards — a 3,100-yard career scorer — and the return of defensive standout Charles Brantley. Fitzgerald’s ground-oriented offense and Big Ten experience could help, but expectations are tempered: early wins are possible, but the tough schedule — especially conference play — will test the program. The season opener against Wisconsin, a team still reeling from a humiliating home loss, could be a pivotal, challenging start.
