Five Things I've Learned About Addiction

from LOOA: Loved Ones of Addicts

Addiction is unlike anything else. When we have a loved one in active addiction, we must treat it differently than anything else. In this episode, I share the five things I've learned about addiction. Learning about the nature of addiction gives power to the loved ones, and removes power from the addiction. I found that when loved ones arm themselves with the knowledge of the nature of addiction, we have a clearer path of what needs to be done. We can make decisions that are more informed, making us less reactionary and more proactive. I hope this podcast gives you hope.
