Keep me in the light my Jesus. Keep me close to Thee – Swooping, diving, falling, flying – Keep my eyes ever fixed to see. You, the pole of all the Universe, You, the axis of my soul – You, the Stationary Son – The One we all need and know. Let me orbit all my days – Yours, the bright light above. Let me absorb it, all your ways – Yours, the sublime heights of Love. Grant me a fierce humility – That I may gently go – Wherever You should call me, To whatever You will show. Help me to trust You, always first – And bring to you all my actions – I know you satisfy my souls great thirst. There is no higher satisfaction. You put understanding into my eyes, And wisdom stirs my heart, The only thing I could ever fear, Is from You to depart. So keep me in the light my Jesus – Always near me stand – For I never ever loved so dearly, Such a faithful, loving man. You, my brother Jesus, You, my teacher, friend, You, my companion pleases, To eternity without end.
