Flame of Unquenched MightPresented by Vincent Cheung O Spirit of power, flame of unquenched might, Your works resound through time, healing and wonder alight. Yet men, steeped in the venom of tradition and pride, Call your miracles lies, your light a shadow, your truth denied. Behold the faithless, garbed in robes of pretense, With tongues forked and sharp, they wound the immense. Cessationists, worse than magicians of old, Reject your gifts, your promises cold. They stand in pulpits, their voices a dirge, Proclaiming that which the Spirit would purge. “Miracles have ceased,” they shout to the skies, Unknowing their echoes bring forth their demise. O Holy Spirit, insulted by careless word, Your truth spoken, yet their hearts remain blurred. The Pharisees rise again, blind and bold, Calling the power of God Beelzebub’s hold. What terror awaits, unpardonable sin! For words once spoken, the flames shall begin. Eternal the judgment, no plea shall avail, Their fate is sealed; their hearts' venomous tale. Come, O church, to the Spirit align, Honor the works that are clearly divine. Heal the sick, cast out demons, speak in tongues anew, Reject the heresy that mocks what is true. O Spirit eternal, we gather and stand, With faith as our shield and the Word in our hand. Against unbelief, we wield the sword, Declaring your truth, the power of our Lord. The critics may scorn, their hearts made of stone, But by their words, their rebellion is shown. O Spirit, rise in justice and might, Defend your glory, banish the night. So sing, O soul, of a doctrine divine, Of blasphemy’s peril, a judgment assigned. Let every word spoken align with the Light, For by words are we justified, by words cast from sight.
