This soil abandoned Fertile once Feeding families From before the law Now evil monsters lurk beneath Grab your ankles Slowly drag you down My breathing’s ragged After forest fire turned and followed after me I’m wading through The crumbling ashes - scattered remnants of a thousand trees Dissapointment Coming after me again All the demons Coming after me again At least they care At least they care But I can breathe The summer air Plough the furrow And begin again The hands that tighten round my neck Just belong to Just belong to me My breathing’s ragged After forest fire turned and followed after me I’m wading through The crumbling ashes - scattered remnants of a thousand trees Dissapointment Coming after me again All the demons Coming after me again At least they care At least they care
