This is part two of our panel series consisting of Black scientists and professionals to discuss the current and future impacts of COVID-19 and the #BLM movement on the Black community entitled: "Flattening Our Curve: A conversation among Black scholars and professionals on the impact of COVID-19 and #BLM on the Black community" We will be bringing together a multidisciplinary group of Black scholars to discuss these impact of these two events on the Black community in a three part series. The first will be held on July 29, 2020 at 6pm and will explore the current and future impact of COVID-19 and the #BLM movement on the health and wellness of the Black community. The second panel will be held on August 5, 2020 at 6pm and will discuss the social, economic, and educational impact of COVID-19 and #BLM politics and policy on our community. Lastly, on August 12, 2020 we plan to host our "Flattening our Curve THINKTANK" to brainstorm and create concrete solutions that can be implemented within our own communities. Participants will be grouped in teams of 3-5 people and will create a 1 page proposal and budget for a project that directly addresses the various impacts that COVID-19 and #BLM politics have on the Black community.
