Flavel on Thankfulness

Flavel argues that the thankful person 1) is an observer of the mercies he has received, 2) considers God’s mercies in their natures, degrees, seasons, and manner of conveyance, 3) duly estimates and values his mercies, 4) faithfully records His mercies, 5) is suitably affected with the mercies he receives, and 6) orders his conversation suitably to the engagements that his mercies have put him under.
