In this episode of The Everyday Heroine, the Mercury 13 are featured as Everyday Heroines from the movie ‘Mercury 13’. I give perspective on the many contributions that the Mercury 13 added to aviation, space flight, and women’s leadership. I hope to inspire the audience to also pursue their dreams after seeing these women as great examples. I define the concept of the ‘Fleecing of the Feminine’ [4:25] and where the inspiration comes from while applying that concept to the issues women continue to face today. I share my life experiences with examples of being fleeced by others [23:30].  Throughout the episode, I apply the 7 defining characteristics of the Everyday Heroine to the stories of the Mercury 13 as seen from my perspective of the movie. I use many inspirational quotes from the Mercury 13 that were used in the movie to help inspire women today to achieve their own greatness.From my curiosity, I compliment my view of the movie by doing a little research on questions that came up for me as I explored what was going for these women during that timeframe.
