Ashley Moody, the Attorney General in Florida, is considering backing up Florida State University in their fight with the ACC over the Grant of Rights. The specific issue that has caused Moody to act is “sovereign immunity” and whether FSU, as a state institution, can be sued. The ACC argues that FSU waived their sovereign immunity when they joined the ACC and Judge Bledsoe in North Carolina agreed. Moody has petitioned the AG’s in the other states where ACC Universities are located in order to back her up.
