Florida Elections, the National Debt, and the Midterms

The Florida primary election finally happened on August 18, and Matt and Brett have plenty to talk about, including the surprise win of Angie Nixon for the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate. Florida’s new Congressional districts are now set with Republican nominees, which can play in significantly as Republicans hope to pick up 2-4 more seats in Florida. Also in the news this week is the massive debt of the U.S. government, which has now topped $40 trillion! Will it ever come down, and what is the best case scenario for addressing this looming crisis? Other items for discussion are U.S. Senate races in Wyoming and Alaska. The Alaska race is particularly meaningful as it could be one of a handful of contests that decides whether Republicans hold the Senate in November.
