Good afternoon! I'm Aaron Jolly, and welcome to the Florida Weather Podcast. It's Saturday, February 19th. Folks, Florida decided to skip straight to summer today. Here's the deal. Central Florida is the hot spot, literally, pushing 88 degrees this afternoon. That's cookout weather in February. Step outside and you'll feel it instantly. Down in South Florida, you're sitting pretty at 80 degrees. Light southeast winds at 3 to 8 miles an hour. Perfect for the beach. But slather on that sunscreen. This February sun will fool you and burn you before you know it. Slide over to Tampa Bay and you've got 84 degrees with a gentle southwest breeze around 8 miles an hour. Great day to be outside doing just about anything. Now head up to North Florida. You're still balmy at 85 degrees, but the wind picks up a bit. Gusts hitting 13 miles an hour from the southwest. There's a slight chance of a stray shower, but most of you stay dry. Tonight, temperatures barely budge. Lows settle into the mid 60s to near 70 degrees statewide. Leave the windows cracked. You'll sleep just fine. Tomorrow brings more of the same. Highs climb back into the mid 80s to near 90 degrees with plenty of sunshine. Here's what's coming your way for the week ahead. The heat isn't going anywhere. Highs hold in the 80s statewide with dry skies and light winds. Air quality stays good. If you love summer showing up two months early, this's your week. Sunrise landed at 6:32 this morning. Sunset hits 5:20. And we're gaining nearly 3 minutes of daylight every day. Spring is sneaking closer. One more thing. If you're enjoying these daily updates, share us with a friend. It really helps more folks find us. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow. Stay safe out there, folks!
