Florida's Property Tax Future

Sal Nuzzo, our monthly guest from Consumers Defense, pays very close attention to the legislative happenings inside the Sunshine State. While Gov. Ron DeSantis is proposing the elimination of property tax (something our host has been pushing since 2002), members of the GOP in the State House, notably Speaker Danny Perez, are rolling out alternative ideas which would all but destroy the Governor's proposal. The question being ... if you must pay property tax to keep your property do you ever really own it?
