The top-seeded Florida Gators opened their defense of the national title with a record-shattering 114-55 victory over the Prairie View A&M Panthers in the first round of the 2026 NCAA Tournament. The depth of the roster was on full display as all 12 scholarship players who played entered the scoring column, including the 7-foot-9 walk-on Olivier Rioux, who electrified the partisan home crowd with a late slam dunk.For the Panthers, the loss concluded a season defined by resilience. After a difficult start to the year that saw them at 9-16 in mid-February, they finished strong by winning the SWAC Tournament and earning the program’s first-ever First Four victory.
