from Jacksonville News Today | 2 Min News | The Daily News Now!
Florida’s rolling out its annual “Operation Southern Slow Down” from July 13th to 18th, hitting the road hard to crack down on speeding and save lives—last year alone, over 7,000 tickets were issued. The crackdown isn’t limited to Florida either: expect more patrols in Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, and Tennessee. And with a new “super speeder” law in effect since July 1st, hitting 50 mph over or 100 mph can mean steep fines, jail time, and serious consequences—first offense: $500 and up to 30 days; repeat offender: $1,000 and 90 days.
