INGREDIENTS OF THE DAY:  none Since 2016, I’ve been reeling against overly processed foods in the American diet (also called hyper-processed or ultraprocessed foods).  My main objective has been to educate people about the industrialized ingredients in those foods, as well as raise awareness about the health detriments associated with them.  It’s one thing to simply imply that industrial foods are bad for us, but it’s another thing to provide scientific evidence of that view.  Fortunately, since about 2009, a number of research groups from around the world (not so much in the USA) have been studying this question.  In today's au natural podcast episode, I take a pretty deep dive into one of the largest nutrition/health studies ever conducted:  the NutriNet-Santé Cohort French project.  Come join me as I dissect one of the scientific papers that emerged from that project dealing with coronary vascular disease, the #1 human killer in the world.
