FLR 088: Pivoting the Podcast

from Food Labels Revealed · host Mel Weinstein

INGREDIENTS OF THE DAY:  None Since the beginning of the FLR podcast in 2016, I have focused my attention on the ingredients of industrialized foods and also reported on the nutritional content of those foods.  A great deal of time was spent on examining and critiquing ingredient and nutrition facts labels as regards health implications.  Although that job could never be completed given the continual release by food companies of new products with novel food additives, I have chosen to take a break from that podcast content and pivot towards historical developments that have led to the current state of our food system.  How did we get to such an unhealthy food system that most Americans rely upon today?  This episode introduces the pivot which will officially begin in the following episode.
