Flute Rite - extended
from Escapades in Music · host Per Boysen
This orchestral track blends ethereal, synth-like, flutes with percussive bass elements to create a calm yet mysterious atmosphere, perfect for setting a relaxed yet seductive mood. Live-looping improvisation with my Alto Flute and the Mobious looper (software, foot pedals). The resulting stereo file was split into 4 SONG STEMS with Spectral Layers Pro 13. Then I mixed those stems to the final track you are listening to. Technically, my initial performance drew on "phasing" (pioneered by Steve Reich with tape loops long ago). So my first snatched loop started playing back in the left channel while a copy of it, with a slightly shorter length, started looping back in the right channel. After quite a long time, these two drifting loops come back into *sync", and then they drift apart on the other side. All while I kept playing melodies in the center field.
