Flyers’ Giant Defenseman Has Potential | Philadelphia Flyers News

The Flyers just landed a 6’7” behemoth defenseman, Maksim Sokolovskii, at just 17—already turning heads at camp with his size and surprising mobility. A 240-pound force from Kazakhstan who dominated the OHL with the London Knights, he’s got the hit to make you regret stepping on his ice. While his offensive game—especially passing—still needs work, Flyers’ development boss Riley Armstrong sees huge upside: he’s got the puck skills, footwork, and physical intimidation factor to grow into a top-tier defenseman. Expect him to finish his OHL season, then head to Maine for college before the NHL radar locks in.
