Send us Fan MailKen Achenbach is a Canadian snowboarder who changed the course of history by opening the world's first Snowboard shop in Calgary in the early 80's. Ken was friends with Jake Carpenter, Tom Sims, Craig Kelly, Regis Rolland, Chuck Barfoot, Evan Feen, and a million other pioneering snowboarders. Ken started Camp Of Champions on Blackcomb. He also placed 2nd (tied with Jeff Grell) at the second world championships of snowboarding in Soda Springs. He got second at the Legendary Banked Slalom at Mt Baker when it was simply the Banked Slalom. It is hard to explain how integral Ken has been in the innovation of snowboarding. I was lucky enough to ride with him last year and he still loves it, you can tell..
