Focusing our Hearts and Minds

from Relentless Truth with John Warren · host John Warren

Subscribe ▼ Show Notes Interestingly, I made it through the first half of my banking career without understanding why I was successful or specifically how I’m “wired.” It wasn’t until my employer sent me for a day of testing that I began to see my capabilities, my preferences, my patterns, and my style. Since that time, I have learned much more as I have grown spiritually. The Heart Paul has written much on the heart – the center of a human being. And he also wrote a lot about the mind and knowledge of various types. Human volition is important to Paul as is God’s sovereignty. Somehow, those two important truths aren’t contradictory according to Scripture. The Mind and Knowledge Paul teaches us to long for the things that are above and to set our minds on those things. My mind is often set on sports, money, my feelings, and my family. But I rarely really set my mind on things that are above. Paul understands that if Jesus Christ is preeminent, He should be preeminent in our minds and hearts. This series is life-changing. The preeminence of Jesus is everything.
