Folge 10 - Pre-pandemic and post-pandemic conferences: The evolution of iPRES

from nestor podcast · host nestor e.V. - Kompetenznetzwerk Langzeitarchivierung und Langzeitverfügbarkeit

Marcel Ras was part of the comittee that organized the iPRES in Amsterdam 2019. That was the last iPRES that took place before the COVID-19 pandemic. He now talks to Katharina Markus (ZB MED) and Yvonne Tunnat (ZBW) about pre-pandemic and post-pandemic conferences and the challenges of hybrid conferences. He also speaks about the advantages to organize iPRES in your own country, in his case, the Netherlands; and why it is a good idea to bring iPRES to other continents like Africa and South America within the next few years and what will be necessary to achieve this goal. The interview was recorded in April 2025.Persons involved:Marcel Ras: Vrije Universiteit AmsterdamYvonne Tunnat: Projektmanagerin Digitale Langzeitarchivierung, ZBW - Leibniz-Informationszentrum WirtschaftDr. Katharina Markus: Leitung Digitale Langzeitarchivierung, ZB MED - Informationszentrum LebenswissenschaftenLinks: iPres Statement of Principles: https://dev.ipres-conference.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/iPRES_Statement_of_Principles_1.0.pdfContext of the iPRES Code of Conduct: https://dev.ipres-conference.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/Context_iPRES_Code_of_Conduct_1.0.pdfiPRES Code of Conduct: https://dev.ipres-conference.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/iPRES_Code_of_-Conduct_1.0.pdfCode of Civility of the iPRES Steering Group: https://dev.ipres-conference.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Code_of_Civility1.0_iPRES_Steering_Group.pdfInternational Conference on Digital Preservation: https://ipres-conference.org/Research Data Alliance: https://www.rd-alliance.org/
