Bei Reena Krishnaraja ging es die letzten fünf Jahre Schlag auf Schlag: Mit ihrer Maturaarbeit landete sie auf der Comedy-Bühne; 2022 folgt der Preis als SRF 3 Best Talent Comedy und seit Herbst 2024 spielt sie ihr eigenes Solo-Programm «Kurkuma». Neben zahlreichen Auftritten und einem eigenen Podcast studiert die 22-Jährige Sozialwissenschaften in Bern. Das alles unter einen Hut zu bringen ist keine leichte Aufgabe, aber ein guter Ausgleich: «Ich brauche den Stress. Die Herausforderung ist es, diesen gut zu dosieren. Unter Druck habe ich auch bessere Ideen für Comedy!» Die gebürtige Ausserrhoderin mit tamilischen Wurzeln fällt auf in der Comedyszene: «Das ist ein Vorteil, man bleibt den Leuten besser im Gedächtnis. Ein schlechter Auftritt aber auch!» Oft hatte die Comedienne das Gefühl, sie müsse perfekt sein, weil sie auf der Bühne Minderheiten repräsentiert. Rassismus und Sexismus sind dann auch immer wieder Themen, welche Reena auf humorvolle Art aufzeigt. Eine Moralapostelin will sie aber nicht sein: «Ich probiere, mit den Leuten eine gute Zeit zu haben, und wenn ich schon die Aufmerksamkeit habe, ist es schön, dass ich auch noch was mitgeben kann!». Und das hat Reena Krishnaraja auch in diesem tiefsinnigen und humorvollen Gespräch geschafft.
