Kendra talks with Kameko Grant, Founder of @sogoodgeneralstore, about Kameko’s winding road spanning east to west coasts as a purpose-driven intrapreneur and entrepreneur.  Growing up in rural Virginia as one of five girls in a multicultural, deeply religious household, Kameko was homeschooled and encouraged to explore nature as a pastime. While babysitting, she discovered and became enamored with fashion magazines. At 16, she signed herself up for fashion school and remained in the field for 15 years including landing a senior designer position at Ralph Lauren.  We talk about the life transition that led to Kameko’s career as a private chef for Jay Z and Beyonce, and the factors that inspired her to create a “non-toxic haven” for her growing family. As the demand for her products soared, Kameko used her interdisciplinary skills to found the @sogoodgeneralstore, a BIPOC-owned company that features sustainable plant-based cleaning supplies, skincare, and zero-waste home products.
