Pastor Sam makes a profound statement that sets the tone of the teaching “Faith isn’t to help you conquer this world and take it over but to keep and preserve you for your eternity that is coming” The one who has placed His faith in Jesus is one; as the anchor text in Jeremiah 29 shows us, who doesn’t focus on 70 years in Babylon (this world) at the expense of the Jerusalem that is to come (heaven/eternity) This focus of our lives is based on our heavenly citizenry and as pilgrims here informs us how we would behave in this Babylon(worldly) affairs.
