Following in the Way of Forgiveness (Cultivating Forgiveness Part 4)

Jesus tells His disciples to forgive even when someone sins against them repeatedly. Their immediate response is understandable: “Increase our faith!”But what if forgiving well doesn’t require some extraordinary kind of faith available only to spiritual giants? What if it requires discipleship—a life in which we are formed over time to obey Jesus?This Sunday as we explore Luke 17:1-10 and Matthew 28:18-20 we’ll look at how baptism, worship, prayer, communion, and the examples of other Christians can cultivate habits of forgiveness and unlearn habits of bitterness, vengeance, and retaliation.We cannot prepare for every conflict or tragedy.
