Following King David’s Example

In this homily, we reflect on King David bringing the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem and how his devotion points us toward the heart of Christian life. As David acts as both king and priest, we are reminded that Jesus fulfills every priesthood and invites each of us, through baptism, to share in His mission. Our spiritual life is not only about prayer and receiving blessings, but about living a daily offering of self—through sacrifice, love, and doing God’s will—so that God’s grace may flow through us to the world.
