We tend to assume that the sign of a successful life is that you are moving from one degree of status to the next. That happens as we take on tasks and responsibilities associated with that new position. But as Jesus sits around the table with his closest friends, he does something that shows that His kingdom works very differently. And in fact, he shows that the only way forward is down.
