Following the Shepherd

From Joe Rogan to Taylor Swift to Pastor Andy Stanley, our culture is full of influencers. Some reach audiences of over 500 million people. In many ways, these voices function as modern-day “shepherds,” guiding thoughts, shaping values, and forming communities. Some are Good, others not. But it begs the question: Who is your shepherd? Whose voice do you know? Whose lead do you follow? Scripture teaches that we all need a shepherd. In fact, the relationship between shepherds and sheep is one of mutual trust and care. When healthy, it’s deeply life-giving for both. In John 10, Jesus boldly declares, “I am the Good Shepherd.” He came not only to lay down His life for the sheep, but to lead us—to guide us into green pastures both now and for eternity. His life also models what a healthy shepherd-sheep relationship truly looks like. Join us this Sunday as we begin our new series, “A Sheep’s Journey,” where we’ll explore the deep beauty of the relationship between Sheep and Shepherd as modeled by Christ, looking at the beauty and necessity of this unique relationship.
