Pietermaritzburg Economic Justice and Dignity group says the price for a basket of select and staple food in South Africa has started trending upwards again.  Between July 2020 and August 2020, the cost of these core foods increased by 2,3% (R31,75).  Over the past five months of lockdown, the cost of these core foods increased by 8% (R106,06); and year-on-year the cost has increased by 15,6% (R193,84).  st of the core foods is at the highest level we have ever seen." -  Programme Coordinator  Abrahams
