Don and Ben start the show jumping into things revisiting the devastating and huge E. coli O157 outbreak linked to a number of Calgary daycare settings. Ben talks about his trip to Portland for WAFDO and Don talks about his trip to Rome for an FAO/WHO virus meeting and the cool things they saw/heard. The guys talk about how a very artisanal method for canning sardines has likely led to botulism outbreak linked to a wine bar in Bordeaux, France. The conversation goes to milkshake and soft serve mixers, shakers and other machines and Listeria risks. In what is becoming Ben's favorite bits, they then discuss a couple of Apple News stories on dangerous foods and TikTok's obsession with leftover rice. The show ends on a discussion on revisiting a classic paper on washing pre-washed leafy greens that was written by an all-star cast of scientists.
